Azhar - Movie Review

The movie shows the Life Story of a Famous Indian Cricketer and Former Captian of Indian Cricket Team Mohammed Azharuddin ( Imraan Hashmi ). The Movie starts azhar making Century in his 99th Test match. But after that he faces Match Fixing allegations because his name linked with a London based Bookie and Cricket Board Bans him for Lifetime. Then Azhar decides to  challenge the ban in court with the help his lawyer friend Reddy (Kunaal Roy Kapoor).

 

Movies goes to Flashback. Azhar Scores Consecutive 3 Centuries in 3 Innings and becomes Hero of India. Azhar gets married with Naureen ( Prachi Desai ) and Starts living Happily. After a loss with Pakistan in 1991, Indian Cricket Board decides to Make Azharuddin as New Captain. Senior players like Manoj, Ravi and Navjot, who didn't wanted to take orders from a younger player were against this decision. But Kapil ( Varun Badola ) encourages him and tries to help him.
 
During a Add shoot Bollywood Actress Sangeetha ( Nargis Fakhri ) Falls in Love With Azhar and they Starts Dating but keeps their relation hidden. But when it comes out  in media. Azhar Publically announces his relation with Sangeeta. Due to which Naureen asks for Divorse. Azhar becomes Famous for his Expensive life style and becomes target of match fixers. He is soon been approached by a London based bookie disguised as a diamond merchant, who later offers him 10 million rupees to under play in a match against Sri Lanka, which Azhar hesitatingly accepts. Post match fixing scandel Azhar is now facing nation wide criticism and a London based lawyer Meera (Lara Dutta) is building up a strong case against him on the basis of sting operations done by Manoj on Ravi, Navjot and several other cricketers.  How Azhar and his friend Reddy finds proof for Azhar Innocense forms the Climax of story.
